Pricing for our laser services depend on lots of different things, mostly it comes down to the material, time it takes to cut & the quantities. We can cut anything from a one off piece to large scale orders. Below are some rough price guides for simple laser cut pieces, each piece is different though so please use this as a rough guide and send us a quote request for a better idea of what your job will cost to produce.
At the end of the day we always need to end up with a vector file for the laser to cut it, so the more you can do to give us a suitable vector file the cheaper your quote will be. To learn about getting your file set-up correctly see our section below about file setup.
If you have a non-vector file (eg a scan or photo of a drawing or something you’ve made in photoshop) we can sometimes help you convert the file, for this we charge at an hourly rate for file conversion or see our section below about file setup for some ways of converting your drawing to a vector file.
All quoted prices on delivery are based on the fact that we are assuming you are in Australia, overseas prices on postage and sample will have to be quoted as the jobs are sent in.
We prefer vector files to work with, it is the only file format the laser cutter recognises.
In some cases you can convert clean black and white drawing to vector files for laser cutting, we charge an hourly rate for file setup. if you are unsure please fill out our quote request form and attach your image so we can take a look!
If you don’t have Adobe Illustrator to create your vector file but would like to make your own you can use other programs like Corel Draw, Inkscape or Vector Designer to create your file – there are lots of tutorials on the internet to show you how to use these programs.
You can also use an online service like Vector Magic to convert your file to a vector – these work best with clear bold lines (not pencil drawings) of if you draw up your design in black ink and then upload to this website then it might be able to convert if for you. They can even hand trace your design for you if the auto trace does not work so well.
When setting up your file
- Make sure it’s setup as RGB (not CMYK)
- Cut line set to be a red stroke (no fill)
- Save as EPS file
- Setup at 100% of size it needs to cut
- If you want an area to etch make it black
- All cut lines must be joined to be one continual line.
